Last week, Chelsea and I attended a family reunion/90th birthday party for my grandaunt, Mama Ely. The theme was “60s-70s” and of course my lively aunts and uncles complied. They even outshone us younger kids because we were just dressed in something you’d wear to a nightclub. I really wanted my tito’s groovy poncho shirt for myself!

There was a rather candid/morbid video presentation about Mama Ely’s life. The part about her parents talked about how her dad was beheaded during the Japanese invasion!
